2012 A.D. Battle of the Books

Registration for the 2012 Advanced Division Battle of the Books started November 1, 2011.  Please visit the adult reference desk to register and pick up your set of books.  This year's three titles are:

1. Fat Cat by Robin Brande - Overweight teenage Catherine embarks on a high school science project in which she must emulate the ways of hominims, the earliest ancestors of human beings, by eating an all-natural diet and foregoing technology.
2. The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson - In the months after her sister dies, seventeen-year-old Lennie falls into a love triangle and discovers the strength to follow her dream of becoming a musician.
3. Marcelo in the Real World by Francis X. Stork - Marcelo Sandoval, a seventeen-year-old boy on the high-functioning end of the autistic spectrum, faces new challenges, including romance and injustice, when he goes to work for his father in the mail room of a corporate law firm.
